About AIM

The Discipleship Model of Jesus

AIM's entire organizational philosophy is built on a single question: how did Jesus walk with His disciples?

From this question, AIM identifies the following characteristics of Jesus's discipleship method, which they seek to replicate:

  • Just a few disciples

    Small, intentional community.

  • Invested deeply for three years

    Long-term commitment to growth.

  • In community

    Life-on-life relationships.

  • On a journey

    Not stationary but moving, experiencing.

  • Modeled the message

    Lived what He taught.

  • Targeted the poor in spirit

Went to those who were hurting.

  • Met felt needs

Addressed practical and spiritual needs together.

  • Told stories

    Communicated through narrative.

  • Sent them out in dependence

Pushed disciples to rely on God, not themselves.

This model undergirds every AIM program, from week-long short-term trips to the 11-month World Race Expedition to long-term missions placements.
