Alumni Parents

You've been there. Be the voice.

A parent who has lived through the World Race (the launch, the silence, the re-entry, all of it) can reach another parent in a way nobody else can. We need you.

Parents who've been where you are

In their own words. Every quote below is from a parent who walked through a Parent Vision Trip.

On connecting with their Racer

"Going on the trip was truly a bonding moment that will be something to connect us for life."

"It was such a beautiful opportunity to walk beside her and allow her to lead in some areas. Praying together, talking with people we met on the street, and hearing her share during the Sunday morning service strengthened our bond and our understanding of each other's heart."

"Worshipping and praying together gave me the feeling of connection that I've been praying for."

"My prayer was to be more connected with my son, and to learn more about what was on his heart. This prayer was answered."

On seeing their Racer grow

"This was a seminal moment in our relationship where I began to see my son as a man owning his life, rather than as my child that needed to be guided, provided for, and protected."

"Seeing how they truly trust in the Lord with their entire life. Very powerful!"

"Seeing her in action humbled me and encouraged me to be more bold in showing the love of God to people I would not normally talk to."

"She was a star. Mostly because she pointed everything to Jesus, worshiping him and making him known."

On their own faith

"Truly a reminder of God's work in our lives, and a reason to be grateful."

"It re-ignited my faith and purpose. He feels less distant than I had experienced in the past."

"The Racers have shown me to not hide my religion but to live it out openly, despite the reaction and disapproval of others."

"I am inspired by him to be on fire for the Lord."

On the intergenerational experience

"Being with our adult children was a very moving experience."

"Having three different Racers ask if they could pray for me throughout the week was very humbling and life-giving."

"I have so much respect for these young adults who have dropped everything in their lives to follow the Lord."

On feeling supported

"Leadership was invisible, which is a good observation. It appeared as if they were working as a single unit."

"They reassured us that our Racers were in good hands and that they were part of the ministry's family."

"The hours were long with some late worship sessions, but I thoroughly enjoyed them and miss them."
